They do this when bacteria is taken up into the phagosome, which becomes a lysosome, and the defensins are secreted in the cell. Mast cells: found in connective tissue throughout your body, especially in the dermis of your skin (connective tissue layer of skin). The complement system: coat bacteria and attract macrophages which can engulf the bacteria. When it attaches to a pathogen, it comes in with (cid:858)te(cid:374)ta(cid:272)les(cid:859) to (cid:272)li(cid:374)g o(cid:374)to the (cid:272)ell.
