Symptoms: dysmenorrhoea: cyclical pelvic pain, premenstrual and/ or post menstrual, prevalence: 60-70% of women, dyspareunia: pain during sex, during and post coital, prevalence: 9-19% of women, dysuria: urination pain, pain during bladder voiding, prevalence: 9-19% of women. Infertility: unable t get pregnant after 6 months, prevalence: 30-40% of women, other symptoms, rectal pain, full bowel pain, defecating pain, menorrhagia (heavy menstrual bleeding) Why it causes pain: unknown but investigate potential reasons, pelvic lesions contain glands and stromal cells, presence of adhesion (sticky fibres that connects endometrium to another organ (can cause the pain)
