If baroreceptors are absent, bp will fluctuate wildly, without control. K+ rmp further drops: shown on the graph: hyperpolarized refractory period prolongs. In the experiment where rats injected with either 9tbd or sucrose were put in cages of square or circular shape, and later only rats with 9tbd showed differentiated memory about which cage they were in. Normally high activity at rvlm results in sympatho-activation, therefore inhibition to rvlm decreases drive. Nts neurons to parasympathetic or sympathetic pathways: with arac, rats are much more hypertensive than normal rats at the same level of hr. This suggests that without new nts neurons forming, nts cannot do a very good job at modulating bp. Respiration: phrenic nerve activity increases during inspiration whereas recurrent laryngeal nerve activity peaks during post-inspiration to hold the air inside the lung. Increased h+ in csf: kir closed in response (on astrocyte), as well as task-2; gpr4 activated closes leaky k+ channels (on rtn neuron)
