Elements to offences: elementise offences and relate those elements to given facts. Criminal responsibility: explain the bases on which a person is held to be criminally responsible for their acts and omissions according to the law of queensland. Parts 2 6 of the criminal code contain sections that create criminal offences. These sections contain elements that must be proven by the crown in order to hold a person liable for committing an offence: must prove beyond reasonable doubt otherwise not successful. Some elements = physical in nature => actus reus (guilty act: where the accused has actually done something or omitted to do a particular thing. Some elements relate to a state of mind (mental element) = mens rea (guilty mind: e. g. The accused intentionally did this the accused wilfully did that : not all criminal offences need to have a mental element, the physical element can be enough = absolute liability offence.
