Sport fandom allows opportunity to feel better about oneself. Sport fandom provides an opportunity to obtain economic gains. Sport fandom provides opportunity to spend time with family. Sport fandom allows opportunity to spend time with others. For males, eustress, self esteem and aesthetic are more important. For all the other categories, gender doesn"t matter. Males report steady increase in enjoyment with increasing suspense. Females report increases in enjoyment from minimal to moderate suspense and moderate to substantial suspense, but decrease in enjoyment in extreme suspense condition. Found consistency between sport fan and athlete motivational patterns. Sport fan motivation scale is a useful tool to assess the eight fan motives. Not to be confused with team identi cation motives. = extent to which a person feels psychologically connected to a team.
