Energy: fatigue is generally more mental, implications from discussion of self control, exercise can be energising in itself. Motivation: promote exercise as enjoyable, satisfying and meaningful, incorporate exercise into everyday. If someone has requisite skills and suf cient motivation, the major determinant of performance is self ef cacy. 4 building blocks: past performance accomplishments, degree of success perceived by an individual who has previously engaged in activities similar to, or the same as, the current behaviour, similarity of behaviour is important, vicarious experiences (modelling)
