Document Summary

The purpose of the experiment was to verify the relationship between the frequency of revolution of an object in uniform circular motion and the centripetal force, mass of the object and the radius of the circular path. In this experiment a rubber stopper was rotated 20 revolutions and was recorded in a data table. The data table contained the mass of the rubber stopper, mass hanging, tension in the string, the radius and the average time it took. Each experiment was repeated three times to see a pattern and to verify that the same results were coming. In this lab the independent variables in this experiment were the centripetal force, radius of the circular path and the mass of the object. The dependent variable is the frequency of revolution. Equation 1 f = f t m 4 2 r. In this equation it was to show the relation ship between frequency, force of tension mass and radius.
