Parmenio & other generals tired; troops homesick; done what they set out to do. Upset at alex: adopts persian court manners. Greeks only did this for their gods! Parmenio was his right-hand man in battle. When parmenio"s son failed to reveal a plot against alex- was put to death. No defense- was done as a precaution. He had killed darius & dared to be a pretender king! Next 3 yrs 330-327 bc: faced guerilla warfare. Area difficult to conquer; uses other strategies. Fights king poros who uses 200 elephants at hydaspes (jhelum)
