King tutankhamen restores egypt: encouraged to return to thebes and amun-re, psr 6: restoration stele of king tutankhamen, discovered in the karnak temple, celebrates the return to the traditional gods and capital of egypt. Valley of the kings: west bank of the nile - area for the royal burials, tombs are cut into the rock - extensive passages and chambers, 63 tombs have been discovered in the east valley of necropolis. Late bronze age empires: hittites, egypt, (mitanni), babylon and mycenae = main players c. 1300bc = in amarna letters, diplomacy and gifts between states was constant, some intermarriage = facilitating trade.
