Adorno, art/culture has been subjected to mass production and commoditized into something for profit, film no longer exposes truth or challenges us, but pacifies us. Capitalism co-opts everything, what we think is art, rebellion and transformative is deceptive and mass produced. Marx sees modernity this way, its effects alienating (proletariats vs. bourgeois) Le bon, people who lump together our masses. Mass production and mass media are machines that produce numerous versions of the same thing and create the ability to communicate across the world with millions of people. Time and space, what we understand as the notion of time and space is changing. The process of modernity are so vast and strong that they are transformative to things including time and space.
