11 views1 pages

Document Summary

Individual differences are represented by the ss of subjects. Independent groups design doesn"t have the subjects in results table, repeated measures does. The treatment source doesn"t change when going from independent groups design to dependent groups 1 way anova. Becomes smaller since part of it goes on to become the subjects source. Two way independent groups have factor a, factor b, interaction, error and total. Ssa and total ss stay the same from independent group to two way independent group. The error term gets split up into factor b, interaction and error. Within is dependent groups and between is independent groups. Within subjects design can measure a person"s different score throughout different effects or treatment. You can follow effect of treatment in one individual. In the dependent groups analysis, subjects is considered the between subjects. The bottom two (treatment + error) are considered within subjects. Each of these has their own separate error (see results table in next slide)
