Parenting styles: authoritative, authoritarian, put boundaries on acceptable behaviour but in a warm context, child has clear expectations and parents are consistent, exercise maximum control and expect obedience. Power discipline or threats: can result in low self-esteem or bullying, permissive/loosey-goosey, buddies with your parents, receive little control, reasoning rather than power-based techniques, encouraged to make own decision.
