Sept 25: amnesty and accountability lundi 18 septembre 2017. Impunity or impurity model: rulers of countries are the one"s committing. State accountability model : it involved remedy or redress such as. Individual criminal accountability model: individual accountability is one in which perpetrators of violations are brought to justice, if convicted sent to jail. It became unpopular after ww2, because of the holocaust. New model of accountability suggested: the state became accountable for violations committed within its boundaries & obliged to redress wrongs. Problematic: in applying the principle, individuals could bring petitions, the petitions targeted the state, a vague entity not real culprits. It took a long time to put this into practice because - those responsible for applying the law were afraid to prosecute political figures. Action also too narrow did not apply to issues of social and political nature; applied only to core crimes such as torture, summary executions, genocide and crimes against humanity.
