Vision and hearing are the two major providers of info about the world. Vision and hearing can provide information to help perform a task, but can also be affected if the task is not of optimal design or if the stimuli involved are not of appropriate intensity. Two types of effects can occur: performance effects" error or decreased productivity, due to factors such as. Vision and hearing are involved in the operation of displays and controls and computer. Lens focuses light onto the retina at the back of the eye. Retina contains cells with light-sensitive chemicals which undergo a chemical reaction when exposed to light. This reaction produces an electrical signal, which is transmitted to the brain via the optic nerve. The rhodopsin is bleached if exposed to bright light, requiring several minutes to become functional. It takes up to an hour for the cells to achieve full adaptation to the dark.
