Poseidon hears the prayer of his son and accepts to punish odysseus for blinding. The story of polyphemus is very famous; it inspired other tales in other cultures such as the tale of the medieval hero sinbad the sailor in arabian nights. Sinbad also makes a journey; in his third voyage, he drifts on an island inhabited by a pain.
