To make the most out scientific and technological tools, objects and procedures. To communicate in the languages used in science and technology. States of matter: solid, liquid, gas, plasma. All matter in the universe is composed of tiny particles. These are different forms of matter (solid, liquid & gas) All matter (solid, liquid & gas) has mass. Matter is anything that has mass and takes up space. Gases do not have a defined shape or volume (how did we do this) Gases can be compressed; water is not compressible. There are empty spaces between gas particles. Particles are in motion (whats our evidence) Particles (like those in odour) can move from solid to liquid to gas or even from solid to gas. Think back to ammonia and vinegar that you smelled in lab 1.
