The chavin are the mother culture of the andes. A bit different from the maya more empire-like states in between aztec and maya in terms of empireness. One of the first to have a well-designed administration. They had monumental cities and impressive fortifications. They weren"t able to homogenise the cultures within their own state. They had a system of roads and terraces. They never developed the writing skills that the maya did they used textile as a means of information and communication (stories, mythology, memory) Inca empire most important in the andes (comes late) The centre of the empire is cusco. Empire expended when the spaniards arrived over 4000km from north to south.
