Social vignettes used to measure biases in social anxiety disorder. For someone with social anxiety disorder, they assume rejection and rejection based on something about them. Eg. struck by lightning (us) causes fear (ur) Cs of thunder can grow to elicit a cr of fear of thunder. Associating two different stimuli that the organism does not control. Respondent behaviour; behaviour occurs as an automatic response to a stimulus. Operant conditioning: process of associating a response and its consequence. Eg. pulling candy machine delivery of candy bar. Learn to associate your own behaviour to the consequences of that behaviour you have to perform an action for this conditioned response to be formed. Individuals more likely to repeat behaviours with pos rewards/outcomes. Operant behaviour; action that operates on env to produce rewarding or punishing stimulus. Fear conditioning paradigm plays a role in the development of phobias.
