Gender roles: roles and practices that men and women tend to take based on their cultural backgrounds. Refers to the roles we perform: if (cid:455)ou do(cid:374)(cid:859)t adhere to the roles of (cid:455)our ge(cid:374)der, it is dee(cid:373)ed inappropriate. There are stereotypes behind the ways that females and males should live their lives. There is a way of learning how to be, through family, friends etc. We also learn how to behave through narratives, folktales, and the media. Apparently when you change your gender roles things do not go well. Sex (nature): biological category females and males are born.
