Deinite diferences in the outcome of growth hormone excess from child to adult. Can be direct (pituitary tumour with excess gh), or indirect (tumour in hypothalamus secreing ghrh) Ectopic outside of normal region (tumour in the lung) Certain issues can tend to secrete diferent hormones. In children, gh is important for development and growth. Before puberty unchecked growth from gh extremely tall. Ater puberty, once bone plates fuse, they are sill being simulated to produce, so it keeps doing it, but there is no more growth because the bone plates are already fused. Nowhere for it to go, increased calciicaion, etc, changes appearance signiicantly. If gh is constantly high and suppressing glucose homeostasis, there will be high insulin. Wrestler had tumour removed before or shortly ater puberty. Told to get tumour removed but chose not to see accumulaion of sot issue. Both had growth hormone excess, one got it removed, one didn"t.
