A warmer period associated with diversification events. Determining climate change: compare isotopes of oxygen. There is variation of oxygen 16; in colder periods of time there is less oxygen 16 in the water since it is in the ice. Likewise, in warm periods of time there is more oxygen 16 in water since the ice melts. When organisms die they have the same proportion of carbon 14 and 12. Once dead carbon 14 decays into carbon 12. Angiosperms: vascular plants and have fruits (form flowers) Relationship between angiosperm and animals: pollination, defense, dispersal. A group of mammals with unique characteristics for locomotion. Brachiation and knuckle locking are special features of primates. Stereoscopic vision: having eyes at the front of the face. Nails instead of claws due to interaction with branches, insects and foraging. Triangles represent many species within that group. Sitting pads present in owm but absent in apes. Bi-maturation: one directional change analogous to adolescence (occurs after maturation)
