Igf-1 and leptin (signals how much fat in the body if leptin too low in women, menstruation is paused) are also one of the highest hormones circulating. Gh regulates igf-1 by turning off one of the binding proteins that prevents igf-1 from activating (same as one that regulates placenta) (tissue-speci c level); igf-1 can work in tissues for various sleep-related functions.
