We will be watching the chapter on the st. lawrence. Lachine rapids just downstream where ottawa and st. lawrence merge. Montreal is not doing an adequate (waste water treatment is only designed to remove phosphorous and organic compounds?) Infrastructure decay is increasing (no one has the capital for that) Water is often changed on delivery from plant to homes. Sewage drains go into storm drains pathogens get into river/lakes. Emerging pathogen from cows to water to people. Water facilities try to predict what pathogens will occur and have ready measures to remove them. Farmers in quebec want to be environmentally responsible but can"t due to costs. Rainfall watches manure straight into ditches into the lake. Lake is polluted and nobody does anything about (beaches deserted) affects people with recreational growns: bacterial is developing in the water, when it occurs, government closes down all activity in the water, businesses are closing down. Algae is increasing flood levels increasing.
