Story consist of mainly dialogue between 2 waiters at a spanish caf at night. Narrator rarely speaks; there is no he said ! narrator introduces character but not present at all times. The longest passage in the story is said by the narrator which enters free indirect discourse = narrator speaks through the older waiter. Omniscient narrator = third person narrator functions like god; higher authority who sees everything in the story tells readers about what is happening ! way of mimicking the godless world. This world is supposed to have a missing omniscient narrator.
