This uses language as a way of fooling people into thinking some aciviies are okay. Orwell is saying if you are careful about the use of language you can"t be manipulated as easily. Language masks things that is not in our best interest therefore language can be used immorally. Harrison, orwell etc. concerned with the morality of language. The more informed we are the less likely someone can get away with things. The language rendered it acceptable and made it think it was the opposite of what it actually was. Japanese internment camps: not internment camps but concentraion camps, used to control people.
