Medical pluralism among the sherpa: mix of western biomedicine and local healing practices, local healing therapists fit into three categories, orthodox buddhist practitioners for prevention and cures, shemans for diagnosis, biomedicine work in tourist clinics, body is made up in four substances that are called humurs, black bile, yellow bile , flem and blood, they believe diseases are caused when you have more of one of these substances.
