Mcmasters campus big or small opinions differ) Location: a particular position in space, a particular location within space (a few ways to think about this) Absolute location - latitude and longitude (mathematical, ex. Relative (perceived) location again, open to interpretation, a short drive from downtown. Nominal (or toponym) location a place name (a location that has a meaning or significance that determines its name, ex. The teacher fell down the stairs and the stairs are now called slippery stairs Distribution: amount of space between two or more location. Psychological distance: geographic phenomena can often be explained with reference to the distance between them and their spatial organization.
