Designs don"t work the same everywhere: need to be designed to match local conditions, uses and users are very different. Specialist need to talk to each other as well as the client. Design from the ground up takes more time but balance between savings from integrations and cost of consulting. To make with lower costs must look at the entre overall design not just ad features. If initial cost is high then the payback will be over the life of the building in the form of energy savings. Can reuse current buildings rather than building new ones. Need someone to verify and audit each step of building process.
