Document Summary

We take a systems view when looking at transportation. A system is individual things/components coming together to make something that works together better than they did apart. So we are thinking of something that has a function, in this case the function is to create space time convergence. The joining of components associated with a means of transportation. Even this is limited as it says it is associated with speci c means of transportation. In most cases we have a system that is composed of sub-systems that work together to create a larger network (ie we have rail, planes and roads, that make up the web of how we get around) Train stations, bus stops, traf c lights, train tracks are all physical facilities. Fleets would be cars, trains, skateboards, bicycles ( eets realize the movement) Organizations: ttc or hsr theses are facility and operations managers, they oversee the operations but also manage facilities.
