Experiments and research done, who is benefited by this story telling (people who suffer from ptsd don"t benefit) Empathy has some things to do with it, vocabulary of motive (positive language vs negative language- progression to success) Women with cancer: do they refer to their in group, or normalize their illness and belong to society, exercise and laying claim to locus of power; not only working to be well but going to be well. Allan article speaks to terminal diagnosis, and women trying to understand how this is impacting their lives; achieving some kind of control in terms of their life. As we begin, all of us has this fear of death (psychosocial) ie. will it hurt, how will it happen. Can we give up that womanhood we have to save our lives, or give up our womanhood and fear losing partner.
