Name (4) prescription drugs: broadcasts hormonal messages all over the body: the endocrine systems works by producing hormones in one part of the body which circulate through the whole body. There are a number of hormones you already know such as the sex steroids (progesterone, estrogens, and androgens), insulin, thyroid hormones (t3 and t4) and the glucocorticoids (cortisol). They were only in people of high class because they were to eat refined foods that contained a low iodine diet. Iodine is required for thyroid hormone manufacture and the swelling is due to the increased size and number of the thyroid follicular cells (hyperplasia) which manufacture thyroid hormone. Leptin is secreted by fat cells, which tells the brain that the stomach is full: prior to therapy, children will be hyperphagic and have the inability to stop eating, at onset of therapy, weight decrease will be dramatic.
