External auditory meatus: ear canal, direct sound waves. Mastoid process: (mastoid = breast), point of attachment for neck muscles, bump behind ear. Styloid process: point of attachment for muscles of tongue and neck. Carotid foramen: where carotid artery passes , where artery enters cranial cavity. Frontal: forehead, roof of eye, anterior of cranial floor. Occipital condyle: oval processes, sides of foramen magnum, articulate with first cervical vertebrae.
