We will introduce an electrical current to the body. We are doing this because we are going to try to create an artificial ap, we will interfere. Both muscle and nerve are electrically active and charged, we have a resting amount. We are going to change the resting membrane potential, so we can get an effect. Use this device to input an electrical current to change the membrane potential to get an ap. Getting one from the device instead of the person. Pacemaker, electrical implants: sometimes people forget, ask about any implant. Epilepsy or history of seizures: could just be 1, could be a condition, not just epilepsy. Areas of reduced sensation: they can"t tell if you"re turning it up too high, area of numbness. Anterior neck, carotid sinus, anterior thorax: anterior neck is concerned about the baroreceptors, avoid this and chest.
