Working women: continuities, father is the breadwinner, women do domestic work, types of work. Light manufacturing were seen as womens work like sewing. You see where the woman"s primary responsibility is; which is the home. It was seen as acceptable for young women to do wage work, but as they go older it is no longer acceptable especially when they got married and got kids. If they did do work they had to work in the home: unions attitudes. Organizing women into categories the attitude was that women were working temporarily so they mainly stood up for the working men. They framed the struggle as man up and stand up for your self. Very crucial industry for technology trade, created new forms of employment that advanced the economy. The garment industry led the way for the i. r in many countries especially in asia. Clerical work: change that happened reflected a lot the change that happened.
