Secondary sources (analysis or interpretation of a primary source, eg. any journal article, is written after an event happened, author did not participate in an event) Poke and soak: start with a broad idea and after nding common themes through research, narrow it down. Public archives: available for anyone to see, written in a standardized form. Commercial media accounts: transcripts of tv, radio, etc. shows. Actuarial records: applications, standardized documents, but access is still somewhat restricted. O cial documentary records: records prepared by agencies, can be emails or meeting minutes. Private archives: not intended for personal use. Photos on phones: useful for looking at life history, but may be out of order, or can be missing a chunk, may be nothing that standardizes them, can be vast amounts of paper.
