Document Summary

Cities in the developing world: patterns of growth, issues. Cities and climate change: emergence of cities. Once we used up resources, we moved to another city. Eventually, with having a great food supply, it was possible to stay in one place. There is an expense of energy and resources when you move around. Migrated into dispersed settlements, not really organized with any design in mind. People would choose how to bury their dead. People would decide how they want to handle their businesses. At that point in time, the population was much lower. That pattern of settlement emerged in the middle east. We can see how the pattern expanded elsewhere. In south asia, southeast asia, the routes of travel are expanding with technology like agriculture. We started to see the major cities that are more in line with what we see now. Major areas were london and new york in the 19th century.
