MEDRADSC 1B03 Lecture Notes - Lecture 8: Pelvic Inflammatory Disease, Fallopian Tube, Intracellular Parasite
Document Summary
Virus goes & uses the cell for what it wants then gets rid of it. Attachment needs to occur between the virus & host. External surface has to be removed b4 the virus can move into the nucleus of the cell. Once they enter the nucleus, that"s when they take over. Within the host cell, that is were synthesis takes place. Viruses move to the outside of the cell & start to bud. 1 virus leads to the production of many more viruses being released at the end. Some viruses enter host cells, but do not replicate until later. Used for waiting for better environmental stages, waiting for the immune system to be decreased, or just happens naturally with the virus. Later point in time is when they start to replicate (no longer in latent stage) Makes it difficult for antibodies or vaccines to work on viruses (ie incorrect recipe to destroy the virus); the wrong vaccine was given.
