Found b/n frontal & parietal bones (sagittal suture ends when it intersects w coronal) Exist in the adult, are called fontanelles in infants (incomplete ossifications) Junction of lambdoid & sagittal sutures (posterior fontanel) In the infant it is called the posterior fontanelle. Closes b/n 1 & 3 months of age. Made of the sphenofrontal, sphenoparietal, sphenosquamosal sutures. Has an h shape to it; weakest part of the skull. At the junction of the 2 parietal bones with the frontal bone.
