MEDRADSC 2Y03 Lecture Notes - Lecture 5: Compton Scattering, Rheumatoid Arthritis, Scaphoid Bone
Document Summary
Week 3 lecture 1: radiographic image production (review) Misrepresentation of object"s size & shape; sometimes use to our advantages (ie on scaphoid to open up the waist) Describe the alignment of: central ray: perpendicular to the object & ir, object or anatomical part: parallel to ir & close to the ir. Need to be in dataunt to get the pitcher batter catcher . Misrepresentation of an object"s location on the image relative to other objects, due to objects being at different distances from ir & imaged w oblique rays. Object at larger oid is projected further from central ray than object w smaller oid, so that larger oid appears to be more peripheral than it actually is. Feet are straight & as close together as possible/touching. Apex of patella or knee joint is where cr is located. Used by osteo surgeons osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, joints space (how open)
