Key terms: fourier transform: method of studying waves and solving linear differential equations, filtered back projection: method of image construction that compiles attenuation profiles to create an image. Image data: data that results from computer processing raw data. Note: the slice image matric does not contain detector measurement values. Instead the computer performs many calculations using the detectors values and the results are estimated attenuation values. Resulting axial images: view anatomical man, transverse cut looking from feet to head, therefore all structures inferior to the cut have been removed.
