What is organ donation: long process, respecting the patient, end of life process. What makes a donor: to become a donor you must meet the gift criteria, g: grave prognosis. Process: hla testing, med/soc, organ specifc testing, donor management, coordinating with transplant team, coordinating with or. Extraordinary donations: hepatitis c, can still be donated as long as patient is aware, may or may not contract hep c, too many unknown, travel history, prison history. The or-ndd: patient brought to or on ventilator, patient moved to the table, moment of silence to thank the patient for their donation, recovery process begins, each team takes turns recovering their organ and leave to transplant.
