Sentimental journey les brown, one of most popular. Came out in the summer of 1945, right as many soldiers were coming home from war, just right for its time. At this point in music industry, most bands did not write their own music, no one rly cared. Controlled sounds and dancing was a big part of this - no roughness, soft sounds. The band leaders (eg. benny goodman, count basie, duke ellington, tommy dorsey) were the stars, singers were secondary. Bands began to get smaller in years following ww2 (mostly due to economics)
