Motivationally effective norms: these norms move the kantian self to action. They can be part of or not part of individual"s normative self-conception. Ie: i may identify as someone who helps others, and if it is motivationally efficacious. Motivationally ineffective norms: these norms do not move a person to action, despite the norms existing within the person.
