Animals are one of the three kingdoms of multicellular organisms: other two are plants and fungi, unicellular kingdoms: bacteria and protista. Research on animal behaviour is highly relevant for understanding human behaviour. In 1945, wooping cranes were on the verge of extinction (16 individuals: thanks to conservation efforts there are now 603 individuals (2015) Humans act as the caregiver for orphaned whooping crane chicks: teach them how behave like adult whooping cranes, humans used crane hand puppets to feed them, planes to teach them migration patterns/how to fly. 2 aspects of learning: chicks imprint on caregiver, young learn migration route from adults: human caregivers must (cid:271)e (cid:448)ery (cid:272)areful that the (cid:271)irds do(cid:374)"t lear(cid:374) hu(cid:373)a(cid:374) behaviours.
