Is that really the legitimate model of government?everyone accepts democracy as the only game choice, it"s a system with a way of justifying power and authority, has a sort of hegemonic control. Democracy is derived from the greek words: demos (citizen) and kratos (rule) Democracy is universally advocated as the ideal model for organizing political life; there is direct and indirect democracy. Direct democracy: is a political system where the rule makers and the rule takers are the same people. No specific distinction between the governed and the governors. Back in ancient athens: assembly was the governing body that made decisions and rules; every citizen of athens was expected to be at assembly when they met (approx. Rather, every citizen had a voice, could vote etc . What it implies is that power lies in the hands of people whom rules will effect.
