In the article the prof tries to do a few things with his students. There is an expression, everyone is entitled to their opinion . Some people say it to start/end arguments. When you walk into this profs class, he emphasizes on the fact that one is actually not entitled to an opinion you are only entitled to what you can argue for. A bit harsh but this teaches students to construct and defend an argument - and to recognize when a belief has become indefensible.
