Bring back the same family that was overthrown during the civil war: john locke was not in favor of the restoration of the absolute anarchy (cid:1) (cid:1) (cid:1) (cid:1) (cid:1) (cid:1) Lead theorist (during john locke"s time): robert filmer. Filmer"s argument: we all need fathers and leadership in order to avoid chaos. King has the same authority as a father has over children: not a convincing theory. Locke summarizes his argument and thesis: does not make sense , locke knows it is not a strong theory. Nobody was publicly reading hobbes and thus locke did not argue his theory. Hobbes was not a respectable author and was only read in secret. Locke is justifying how it can be acceptable to overthrow a king. If you get rid of a king anything goes : no one to justify what is right and wrong.
