A demagogue shows up to confuse and sway the poor and uneducated. This argument was backed up with historical evidence (still is today). Aristotle as the first political scientist go out into the world, look and compare. The nature of things is out here, not up there. To understand nature is to understand its purposes. Something is caused not by what comes before it (this is what we think), but by what we want to come after. The cause is at the end of the thing, not the beginning. Understand what nature is aiming at look for what the best thing of a type of thing is aiming at. Find the purpose of a city look around at a bunch of them, and determine what the best is. To use this speech, we need to be in a city (polis). In a democracy, the poor are ruling in their own interest.
