Psychologists follow the scientific method to interpret the world around them. Experimental psychology: uses scientific method to collect and evaluate to come to sound conclusions. These are important to differ valid information from myth. Psychology tackles age old questions with a new perspective. The term psychology comes from the greek words " psyche" which means soul. Aristotle and plato= how we learn and remember and where does knowledge come from. The mind received a dualistic view from the outside senses. The 1800s were special for physiologists with new tools to study the brain. Technology and physiology influenced the emergence of the field of psychology. Messages coded by nerves are like electrical impulses.
