An experiment done by von wright suggests that some informa on is processed even in the una ended ear. It gives a shock if a condi oned work comes up, the par cipants reacted if the word was played in either ear. Shows some sound and meaning can pass through the lter: breakthrough par cipants remember una ended informa on some mes. Can happen if the informa on is highly relevant and breaks through the a en onal stream. In a crowd focusing on your own conversa on, someone says your name and it breaks through your a en on stream.
